It’s hard to describe this book. It seems familiar yet it is fresh with new ideas. The action is fast and exciting, but you can still grasp the concepts and inventions as they quickly appear. The plot is about a scientist who discovers rapidly evolving creatures who are preying on people, and how he and his new family attempt to stop them. The human element is the family that begins as an uncle and niece, then grows to include others. As it develops they all love and protect each other, and they keep learning from one another. Any science fiction fan will love this book.Product details

Strand Prophecy Strand Series eBook Winner Twins Reviews
Steve Cutter's scientific research enables him to become "Strand" - only a man yet something more - and realizes that the world is in serious danger because of accelerated evolution that is creating predatory creatures. He needs to convince the President of the United States and the rest of the world of the danger but he is fighting an uphill battle. He tries hard but can't do it alone and soon the people closest to him are in real danger.
"The Strand Prophecy" is a page turning superhero science fiction graphic novel (the first of five in the series). I initially had some doubts about the book because it seemed a bit gimmicky to me - author JBB Winner is actually a father and his two young daughters - but they quickly overcame my doubts. The novel is full of action and great characters. Strand is a great hero, very powerful but still a man underneath his costume and full of doubts even as he is trying to save the world. The supporting characters are all good, although I wish some them, like E, had been better developed (I know it's a well-worn plot device but a hint of romance between Strand and E would have been welcome). I loved the character of Anna, Strand's teenage niece - she is a strong role model for teenage girls and I wish she hadn't been absent for large chunks of the book.
"The Strand Prophecy" is full of action and written in a way so that I could picture what was happening as I read it. It would, I think, make a very good movie. (There is a wonderful catchphrase throughout the book). The illustrations are wonderfully done and I kept flipping to the back of the book to check out various characters as I was reading the book to see if the illustrations matched how I pictured them (they usually did). While the book is fine for older children to read (and they'll love it) be aware that the last part of the book is very gory - the book is dedicated to Stephen King and the last part reads like something out of a King novel.
"The Strand Prophecy" is rip roaring fun and I can't wait for the next book in the series.
Disclosure of Material Connection I received this book free. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. Hard to believe that the authors are teens, more like Old Souls.
Great effort... BY 11 YEAR OLD TWINS!!! Hard to put down, engaging, great action, superb Sci-Fi. No wonder Stan Lee is taking a good look at it.
I liked the overall plot of the story, although the daughter, Anna, felt very fake to me and didn't seem like she was all there, like she was just a shell. I also feel like many of the characters were to idealistic. They never really did anything selfishly and that made them seem like they weren't really real people(yes, I know they really aren't real people). But overall it was a good story.
This book is exactly what I've been looking for, for ages now! A comic book fantasy, with the depth of character that only a novel can provide! I've found my genre, and at the top of favorites in that genre, is this book!
I bought this book for my 13-year old daughter, who is a voracious reader of classics and current literature. She bailed on this book after fighting to make it through the first chapter. She said even if she didn't know the book was written by a couple of 14-year olds, she could have guessed it. She felt the writing was lacking, if not derivative, and it just didn't hold her attention.
You may love this book. You can have our copy, on the kitchen table where it's sat for 2 months now.
Everyone else has already said most of the glowing positive things about this novel. I echo all of them. This is an excellent, fast-paced, fun read. Especially as I got toward the end, I couldn't put it down. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes Science Fiction.
Then take into account the fact that they WERE 12 YEARS OLD when they wrote this novel! Holy Moly! They write FAR beyond their years with a maturity I wouldn't expect. I expect great things from them in the future, and I'm going right now to buy their second novel in The Strand series.
